Who We Are

The brains and good looks behind HTG Events are Dave Glenister and Sharon Burkey respectively. Dave has been involved with Music and Entertainment since arriving in Bradford in 1984 – initially through ‘Ents’ at the University and later at the infamous Bradford Rio where he was one of the resident DJ/promoters and founded the notorious ‘WND’, well known not least of which for introducing the Blastaway ‘cocktail’ to the World!! Way before that though his love of music and fondness for vinyl was probably sparked by his older brothers and one of their friends in particular – the legendary musical guru Tim Skelton – he basically had *everything*…and would tape it for you if you asked nicely.

Sharon’s taste in Music and Entertainment is eclectic…some might even say questionable, though she is gradually coming round to the sure and certain knowledge that Gary Numan was in fact responsible for every major advancement in contemporary music since 1981. Sharon very definitely puts the ‘G’ in HTG Events and brings a wealth of experience from her vast range of ‘proper’ jobs – from sexual health (no, really…) to web design and hospital building to Human Resources!

Now we’re a little bit older and wiser but still running Events and sharing our love of Music and Entertainment with anybody that will let us. Based in the World Heritage village of Saltaire we work with a number of local venues and welcome the opportunity to showcase and support local bands, businesses, traders, suppliers, artists and many others. We go to a lot of festivals and a huge number of gigs throughout the year – did we mention that we LOVE music?

Dave was absolutely fab as DJ for our Wedding. We loved him, our friends loved him and our parents thought he was good! He was also brilliant before the day, asking us for must not plays and generally organising us! The worst part of the night was when he had to stop playing. I can’t recommend him enough.

I have attended a Wedding Fair organised by HTG and it was one of the best I have attended as a trader. Communication before the Event is really informative and price wise you really cant complain. On the day Dave and his team go out of their way to look after you as best they can – plus they are great to know which always helps!

Dave was the DJ at our wedding. He was fab. We loved the fact that not only did he ask us what we wanted playing and he understood fully what kind of music we like, he also let us draw up a ‘do not play at any cost’ list. We had loads of fun with this in the run up to the wedding. Sadly we forgot to put down one horrible song my sister asked for but on the night when I said no more like that he was totally happy to go with it! Loads of people were dancing and people told us they loved the disco. We would definitely recommend Dave and HTG Events.
